Shopping for small suisai capsules for your trip, but unsure which colour to choose? Start with what matters most after washing: less oiliness, a more moisturised feel, or a balance of both. Then match the full product name on the pack.

I’m Irene, a Taiwan-born, Japan-licensed pharmacist working in a Japanese drugstore. Let’s make the five colours easier to navigate, then get your first capsule ready to lather.

Choose by your concern, after checking your skin
Do not use on wounds, swelling, eczema or other abnormal areas. If your skin is already red, itchy or irritated, pushing ahead with pore cleansing is not the answer.
When your skin is suitable for cleansing, narrow the choice like this:
- Pore dirt and roughness: start by considering White N.
- Shine and a greasy feel: consider Black.
- Dryness after washing: consider Gold.
- Acne-prone skin, with excess oil and dead skin to cleanse: consider Green, keeping acne treatment separate.
- Both dryness and shine: consider Pink.
These are the maker’s cleansing and after-wash positions, not a ranking of strength, irritation or results. All five are cosmetic face washes. Green’s CICA does not make it a medicated acne treatment.
White N: a starting point for pore dirt and roughness

Look for スイサイ ビューティクリア パウダーウォッシュ N.
White N focuses on removing pore impurities, plugs and dead skin cells for a smooth finish. Protease, lipase and amino-acid-based cleansing ingredients do the cleaning. Ethyl glucoside, sodium hyaluronate and carrageenan form its highlighted moisturising blend.
Consider it if you are not specifically seeking the oil-focused or richer-feeling options below. “Basic” does not mean suitable for everyone with sensitive skin. The Japanese pack states fragrance-free and colourant-free.
Black: when shine and greasiness matter most

Look for スイサイ ビューティクリア ブラック パウダーウォッシュ.
Alongside enzymes and amino-acid-based cleansers, Black highlights charcoal, Moroccan lava clay and potassium laurate as a cleansing combination. Its focus is removing excess oil and pore dirt for a fresh, less greasy feel.
Choose it for that direction rather than assuming darker powder is stronger. Use the normal single-capsule amount. If it gets on clothing, the maker advises promptly washing the affected area carefully with detergent.
Gold: when you dislike dryness after washing

Look for スイサイ ビューティクリア ゴールド パウダーウォッシュ.
The maker describes a rich, dense lather and a moisturised finish while cleansing pore dirt. Its “golden beauty oils” are sunflower seed oil and avocado oil, used as moisturising ingredients; the series page also highlights sodium hyaluronate.
Gold is worth comparing when dryness after cleansing is your main concern. It remains a rinse-off wash. A moisturising formula does not override the warning against using it on eczema, swelling or other abnormal skin.
Green: cleansing excess oil and dead skin cells on acne-prone skin

Look for スイサイ ビューティクリア グリーン パウダーウォッシュ.
Green combines a cleansing powder blend containing cellulose and corn starch with a fresh-finish positioning. Its CICA moisturising blend is carrageenan and Centella asiatica leaf/stem extract.
It is an option for cleansing acne-prone skin, not for treating an inflamed spot. The stated moisturising role of CICA does not establish anti-inflammatory or acne-treatment effects.
Pink: when your skin feels both dry and shiny

Look for スイサイ ビューティクリア ピンク パウダーウォッシュ.
Pink pairs an oil-absorbing powder with moisturising ingredients: peach juice, pomegranate fruit extract, raspberry extract, jojoba seed oil and sodium hyaluronate. The maker positions it for combination skin concerned about both dryness and shine.
That describes the intended cleansing experience, not a promise to change how much oil your skin produces. Fruit-derived ingredients do not mean a fruity scent: the regular Japanese Pink formula is fragrance-free.
One capsule, with water added gradually
All five use one capsule per wash. The regular packs pictured contain 32 capsules. N, Black, Green and Pink say 0.4 g × 32; Gold labels its pack as 32 single-use portions. Check the count separately on trial or special-design packs.
- Wet your face and hands.
- Peel the seal from either end and empty one capsule into your palm.
- Add water or lukewarm water a little at a time, incorporating air to make lather. Wash and rinse. A foaming net is also permitted.
Adding all the water at once makes lather harder to control. The brand’s lathering tip uses roughly three empty capsule volumes of water as a guide; gradual addition is the useful part to remember.
Can you use it every day?
The maker permits daily use, with the condition that you adjust to your skin’s state. You do not have to use it every day. Stinging is not a sign that pore cleansing is working.
Stop and consult a dermatologist if the product does not suit your skin, or redness, swelling, itching, irritation, pale patches or darkening develops during use or after sunlight exposure. If it enters your eyes, rinse thoroughly straight away; Black specifically says not to rub. Consult an eye doctor if symptoms remain. Keep capsules away from children and anyone at risk of accidentally eating them. They are not food.
What about the stick sachets and tube washes?
Peeling Powder Wash (ピーリング パウダーウォッシュ) is a separate carbonated-foam powder in stick sachets. Black Scrub Wash and Paste Wash are separate products too. Follow their own instructions rather than applying the five capsules’ serving size to them.
Micro Wash (ミクロウォッシュ) still appears in the brand’s navigation, but the official notice says manufacture ended in September 2025, with sales ending when stock runs out. A product page does not prove local shelf availability.
Before you check out
Match the full name, capsule count and instructions on the actual pack. You do not need all five colours: choose around your main after-wash concern and observe how your skin responds.
If you meant a tube rather than capsules, see my Melano CC 130 g enzyme face wash guide. It covers a different format and its own use instructions.
