DAISO Travel Laundry Net: From Packing Pouch to Wash Bag, with Limits

DAISO brown Square L travel laundry net: read garment labels, zip fully, no dryer or soaking Japan Drugstore Guides

Your clothes are neatly packed in a travel pouch. At the hotel laundry, can you leave them inside and wash the whole bag? With DAISO’s 旅する洗濯ネット, that packing-to-washing idea is the point, but the clothes and the wash conditions still need checking. And there is one important stop: this net must not go in a dryer.

Irene

I’m Irene, a Taiwan-born pharmacist qualified in Japan.

Here, I focus on one model: the brown, double-mesh Square L travel laundry net, JAN 4550480051864. This guide helps you decide what can stay in the pouch for washing and when to take a different approach, rather than treating every travel organizer as a laundry bag.

Find the exact bag: three Japanese words to recognise

Original DAISO brown double-mesh Square L travel laundry net package, JAN 4550480051864
The original DAISO package for the brown Square L. Its small diagram shows a pouch leading to a washing machine; it does not authorise tumble drying. Product photograph: DAISO; source and rights note below. The printed price is part of the original photograph, not a current price offer.
  • 旅する洗濯ネット: a travel laundry net. 洗濯ネット means a laundry net.
  • スクエア L: Square L. “Square” is the model name; the pouch is rectangular.
  • ダブルメッシュ: double mesh. This describes the construction, not a promise that every garment is protected.

Check the barcode as well as the name and colour. DAISO lists this model with dimensions of 45.5 × 8.5 × 27 cm, with a polyester body and tag, and a polyoxymethylene zipper. These dimensions help you compare it with your luggage space; they are not a garment-count or weight allowance.

Before packing: will these clothes be washed together?

If you plan to use the pouch as a laundry net during the trip, start with the clothes’ care labels. DAISO says not to use it for garments that cannot be machine washed, and to follow the washing instructions on the garments. Putting a hand-wash-only item in a net does not make it machine washable.

As a practical packing decision, group only clothes that can follow the same washing instructions. Remove anything that needs different care before washing. Check the particular washing machine’s instructions and the accommodation or laundry’s rules too: a washable pouch is not a guarantee that every machine or cycle accepts it.

Do not put heavy objects, pointed objects or sharp items inside, and do not overfill. A pouch that fits into a suitcase when tightly packed is not automatically ready for washing in that state. The official information does not give a number of shirts or a weight limit, so avoid using a “fits this many items” rule.

At the washer: close the zipper into its cover

Once you have checked the contents and washing conditions, follow DAISO’s closure instruction: close the zipper all the way, with the zipper tucked inside its zipper cover. Do this for washing, rather than leaving the zipper partly open.

The product photographs here do not demonstrate that movement. Check the actual pouch and its label so you can identify the cover; do not guess from a strap or tab in a picture. If you cannot identify the cover or close the zipper as instructed, do not put the pouch into the wash until you can confirm the correct closure.

  • Do not use chlorine-based detergent or bleach. The Japanese warning is 「塩素系洗剤・漂白剤は、使用しないでください。」 Do not read this as permission to use oxygen bleach.
  • Do not soak the pouch in water or washing solution.
  • Follow the garments’ care instructions and the machine’s restrictions; this guide does not supply a universal temperature or wash programme.

Stop before drying, especially with a washer-dryer

DAISO says not to use a dryer. If a machine combines washing and drying, confirm that you can use a permitted wash-only programme without an automatic drying stage. If you cannot establish that, do not put this pouch through the combined cycle.

After washing, remove the clothes and dry them according to their own care labels. Do not leave the net wet, and keep it away from fire and heat sources. Use it only for its intended purpose. The online instructions do not establish a drying time or permit drying the net on a heater.

The useful habit: before you carry the pouch from suitcase to washer, check the clothes, leave room rather than overfilling, and close the zipper into its cover. Keep the dryer out of the plan. That makes the packing-to-washing idea a considered choice instead of a guess based on the picture on the pack.

Based on DAISO’s official product information checked on 26 October 2026, Japan time. This is a label-reading guide, not a hands-on product test. The official online listing showed the item as out of stock when checked; that does not establish stock at individual stores or mean the model has been discontinued.
