I'm Irene, a Japanese-licensed pharmacist working in a Japanese drugstore. I was born in Taiwan and moved to Japan at around age 10. UHA's vitamin gummies may look like an easy choice if you dislike tablets, but “two gummies a day” does not mean the different bags contain the same nutrients.
Choose the nutrients before the flavour
- Specifically comparing a vitamin-C supplement? The lemon Vitamin C product contains 500 mg of vitamin C and 1.1 mg of B2 per suggested daily two gummies.
- Comparing a broader vitamin mixture? Pink-grapefruit Multivitamin contains 11 vitamins, including 150 mg of C, 1.4 mg of B2 and 770 μg of A per suggested daily two gummies.
- Already taking a multivitamin or other supplements? Check the combined labels before adding either. Both contain C and B2, so eating the full daily serving of both is not simply choosing two different flavours.
Start with whether supplementation is useful for your diet. A higher vitamin-C number does not make one product better for everyone, and a multivitamin is not a replacement for varied meals.
These are Japanese foods with nutrient function claims, not medicines for treating symptoms or preventing illness. Follow the suggested two-gummy amount rather than snacking freely from the bag.
Recognise the two adult-range packs
Vitamin C: lemon

Look for ビタミンC, the yellow lower section and the lemon illustration. The current product page lists 10-, 20- and 30-day versions; the picture shows the 20-day pack. It also lists 200 mg of collagen per daily serving, but that number does not establish a skin or beauty result.
Multivitamin: pink grapefruit

Look for マルチビタミン and the pink-grapefruit illustration. The current page lists 20- and 30-day versions; the picture shows the 20-day pack. The formula contains 300 mg of collagen per daily serving. It is a different product from UHA's KIDS, instant-tablet and other multivitamin lines.
Both use sugar, syrup and collagen. Vitamin C includes apple and lemon juice concentrates; Multivitamin includes apple, date and grapefruit juice concentrates. Both also contain sorbitol and stevia sweeteners. They are not sugar-free or vegan gummies: UHA identifies the collagen/gelatin used in this range as pig-derived.
Compare one day's two gummies
Every figure below is per two gummies, standard weight 5 g, the manufacturer's suggested daily amount. “Not listed” means that the nutrient is not declared in that product's nutrition panel; it does not establish an absolute zero.
| Item per suggested daily two gummies | Vitamin C, lemon | Multivitamin, pink grapefruit |
|---|---|---|
| Energy | 18 kcal | 17 kcal |
| Protein | 0.3 g | 0.3 g |
| Fat | 0 g | 0.07 g |
| Carbohydrate | 4.3 g | 4.0 g |
| Salt equivalent | 0.0006 g | 0.004 g |
| Vitamin C | 500 mg | 150 mg |
| Vitamin B2 | 1.1 mg | 1.4 mg |
| Vitamin A | Not listed | 770 μg |
| Vitamin D | Not listed | 8.3 μg |
| Vitamin E | Not listed | 6.3 mg |
| Vitamin B1 | Not listed | 1.2 mg |
| Niacin | Not listed | 13 mg |
| Vitamin B6 | Not listed | 1.3 mg |
| Biotin | Not listed | 50 μg |
| Folate | Not listed | 240 μg |
| Vitamin B12 | Not listed | 2.4 μg |
| Collagen | 200 mg | 300 mg |
| Declared allergens | Apple, gelatin | Soy, apple, gelatin |
Irene's label-reading tip: Multivitamin already includes C and B2, while Vitamin C is not a broad multivitamin. Also check the units: 1 mg equals 1,000 μg. A large-looking number in micrograms should not be compared directly with one in milligrams.
The percentages printed on UHA's label use Japanese nutrient reference values for adults aged 18 and over, with a reference energy intake of 2,200 kcal. They are not a measurement of what your individual body is missing. The FAQ identifies Multivitamin's vitamin A as retinol, so include it when reviewing other vitamin-A-containing supplements.
Who should check before taking them?
- Taking medicine, receiving treatment, pregnant or breastfeeding: both exact product pages say to consult a doctor before use. A familiar nutrient name or gummy format does not replace that check.
- Buying for a child: UHA describes this range as intended for adults. Do not calculate a child's serving by halving the adult amount. Keep the packs out of children's reach, and do not confuse them with the separately labelled KIDS range.
- Food allergy: Vitamin C declares apple and gelatin; Multivitamin declares soy, apple and gelatin. Recheck the exact pack when the design or formula changes.
- Dental restorations: UHA warns that chewing can dislodge dental restorative material. Consider this before choosing a chewy supplement format.
- Already using several supplements: bring the labels together to a pharmacist or other qualified professional. In particular, account for the shared C and B2 and Multivitamin's A, D and other vitamins.
The Vitamin C product carries nutrient function claims for C and B2. Multivitamin carries them for E, B2, niacin and biotin. This food-label category does not mean that each product has received an individual government review of a treatment effect. The manufacturer states that taking more does not cure disease or improve health further.
How to take and keep them
- Check that the name and daily amount match your pack. For these two products, the suggested amount is two gummies a day. Do not take extra because the pack tastes like confectionery.
- Chew well before swallowing. This is a chewable format; it should not be swallowed whole like a tablet.
- Close the zip firmly after opening and use the contents promptly. Keep away from heat: the gummies can soften, stick together or change shape. A hot car or sun-warmed bag is a poor storage choice.
- Stop taking the product if it does not agree with you. Seek appropriate healthcare advice for continuing symptoms rather than switching between gummy formulas to treat them.
The useful shelf check is C or Multivitamin, the nutrients you already take, and the two-gummy daily amount. Choose the pack for a genuine nutritional purpose, then decide whether a chewable format suits you.
