For Japan’s ANESSA Perfect UV Sunscreen Skincare Milk NA, check the full Japanese name and 60 mL size, along with the gold bottle and sloping turquoise cap. Shake it well before use, apply your face amount in two passes, and reapply as needed after sweating or towelling. Similar-looking gels, Mild products and versions sold in other markets need their own label check.

Identify the Japanese Milk NA 60 mL

  • Japanese name: アネッサ パーフェクトUV スキンケアミルク NA.
  • English wording on the bottle: PERFECT UV SUNSCREEN SKINCARE MILK.
  • Version covered here: 60 mL; Japanese JAN barcode 4909978147105.
  • Type: face-and-body sunscreen milk, SPF50+, PA++++ and a two-star Japanese UV water-resistance rating.

Check “ミルク NA” as well as the colour. “ジェル” identifies a gel, while “マイルド” marks the Mild line. Do not carry another variant’s fragrance-free or age-suitability claims across to this one. An English name on an overseas pack also does not establish that its formula and directions match Japan’s.

What to expect from the texture and fragrance

This is a two-layer milk that needs shaking. Shiseido describes a smooth, dry-feeling finish and says it can double as a makeup base. How it feels on your skin, or works with your foundation, remains individual.

It contains ethanol and fragrance. The Japanese catalogue describes a fruity-floral scent. If those ingredients matter to you, check the full Japanese ingredient list and the label on your own bottle before buying. Do not assume that a gold-bottle sunscreen is an unscented choice.

Shake, then apply two portions to your face

Apply it after your morning skin care and before makeup. Shake well first, and dry wet skin before application.

  1. First face portion: dispense a pool about the size of a Japanese one-yen coin. Dot it over both cheeks, forehead, nose and chin, then spread evenly.
  2. Repeat for the face: take another portion of the same size and carefully apply a second layer.
  3. Use a separate neck portion: about the size of a ten-yen coin. Spread upwards and remember your ears and the back of your neck.
  4. For the body: dispense generous lines directly onto the skin and distribute them with broad circular movements using your whole palm.
No Japanese coins handy? A one-yen coin is 20 mm across; a ten-yen coin is 23.5 mm. These are visual dispensing guides, not exact millilitre measurements. Keep the two face portions, the neck portion and body coverage separate.

Does water resistance remove the need to reapply?

No. Reapplication is still part of the instructions. Check your coverage after sweating, towelling or water activities; dry the skin before applying more. Give particular attention to exposed areas such as the shoulders, chest, forehead, nose and cheekbones.

Its advertised UV-film technologies do not make a morning application a guarantee for the whole day. While sightseeing, use wiping off sweat as a reminder to reassess and reapply. Using it as a makeup base also does not make a tiny smoothing dab enough sunscreen.

Washing it off at the end of the day

It is labelled as removable with soap. Lather your usual suitable cleanser and wash thoroughly. If you have added long-wear makeup or other products, follow their removal requirements too.

Contact between coated skin and clothes or car seats can leave white marks. Wash stained clothing promptly with detergent, and avoid chlorine bleach because it can turn the stain pink. Keep the product off leather, furniture and nail polish as well.

Small precautions that matter when travelling

  • Keep it out of your eyes; rinse immediately if it gets in.
  • Wipe the bottle opening and close the cap securely after use.
  • Keep it away from young children, direct sunlight, high heat and flames. A sun-baked car is a poor place to leave it.
  • If your skin becomes uncomfortable, stop using it rather than pushing through to finish the bottle.

A quick shopping check

  1. Does the pack say Milk NA, 60 mL, rather than a similar variant?
  2. Are you comfortable choosing a fragranced formula containing ethanol?
  3. Can you carry it for reapplication and clean it off properly at night?

Check the actual store, pack and price when you buy; stock and promotions vary by shop.
