Choosing CEZANNE brow makeup in Japan? Start with the gap you want to fill: a few missing hair-like lines, or a soft background of colour between your existing hairs. A slim pencil and a powder palette do different jobs. You do not automatically need both.

I’m Irene, a Taiwan-born, Japan-licensed pharmacist working in a Japanese drugstore. This guide turns current Japanese manufacturer information into a shopping decision: detail, soft filling, then product identification. It is not a personal wear test or an all-shade swatch review.
Japanese official information checked: 22 October 2026. This is a focused comparison of Super Slim Eyebrow and Eyebrow & Shade Powder, not a ranking of CEZANNE’s entire brow range.
Choose the job before the product
A small gap or a few missing lines at the tail
超細芯アイブロウ
Super Slim Eyebrow

Its 0.9mm round tip is designed for fine brow detail. If you already like the overall colour and only want to fill a small gap, consider a tool for individual strokes rather than adding a powder palette as well.
Official Japan list price: ¥550 including tax. Check the shop’s actual price.
A softly blended background between brow hairs
アイブロウ&シェードパウダー
Eyebrow & Shade Powder

This is a brow and nose-shading powder, positioned for a soft, dimensional finish. Consider this format if you want blended colour rather than individual lines. Its brush also has a fine angled end: defining a tail does not necessarily require buying a pencil.
Official Japan list price: ¥693 including tax. Check the shop’s actual price.
These are unaltered official product images, not our photographs or records of use. Both examples are named Natural Brown, but they have different product names, numbers and formats. Do not treat them as a colour-matched set.
Using the slim pencil: a short tip and small strokes
The official usage diagram says to keep the exposed tip below 1mm and use a light touch. CEZANNE’s FAQ also advises building up with small strokes rather than drawing a whole line at once. The 0.9mm specification is the tip’s diameter, not an instruction for how far to twist it out.
If your main goal is to fill a broad area quickly, ask whether you actually want to work stroke by stroke. Precision in a small gap and speed across a whole brow are different priorities. That is a tool-selection trade-off, not a claim that one format is best for every beginner.
Using the powder: separate the brush and shade roles
In this product’s official diagram, the larger brush applies light shade A at the brow’s inner end and medium shade B across the brow. The angled end uses dark shade C from the arch to the tail. For nose shading, the larger brush blends A from the inner brow towards the nose bridge. This is guidance for this palette, not a numbering rule for every three-colour compact.
Having three shades does not mean you must layer all three everywhere. First decide which part actually needs colour or definition. Following a complete routine should not become a reason to keep darkening areas you already like.
Two name checks that old shopping articles can miss
- The old powder has a different identity. CEZANNE’s spring 2026 discontinuation notice lists Nose & Eyebrow Powder (ノーズ&アイブロウパウダー), shades 01–04. This guide covers Eyebrow & Shade Powder (アイブロウ&シェードパウダー). Do not transfer the old palette’s shade numbers, names or reviews to it.
- “Soft” is another product, not another shade. The autumn 2026 range also introduced 超細芯ソフトアイブロウ, described as softer and supplied with a spoolie. The extra word ソフト matters. This guide does not compare its feel against the original Super Slim Eyebrow.
Write your shopping note as full Japanese product name + shade number + shade name. An older photo can help explain the look you like. It cannot establish current store stock, or show that one shade will suit everyone with black or brown hair.
Wear and removal: keep each claim with its own product
The pencil is labelled resistant to water, sweat and sebum. That is not a promise of zero fading in every situation. We have not run a controlled wear comparison of these two products, so there is no durability winner here.
The powder’s soap/facial-cleanser removal claim applies when used alone. If you layer other makeup with it, do not assume cleanser alone removes the whole combination; check the removal directions for those products too.
For both products, watch for skin changes and stop using them if they do not suit your skin. Avoid dropping the powder compact or subjecting it to strong impacts. If your skin feels uncomfortable, stop rather than continuing to layer colour in search of the right look.
Make one decision first: do you need small lines or soft background colour? Address that gap, then check the current product name and shade. There is no need to assemble an entire brow collection before you know which job remains unfinished.
