For cracked or chapped skin and chilblains, start with the orange-lid Yuskin cream. For everyday face-and-body moisturizing, compare Sisora Cream’s richer feel with Sisora Lotion’s lighter, easy-spreading texture. If your shopping list says “A” or “S,” match that old name to today’s product first.

I’m Irene, a Taiwan-born, Japan-licensed pharmacist working in a Japanese drugstore. When an old shopping list says “Yuskin A” or “Yuskin S,” I start with the name on today’s pack, then the purpose and texture you want.
This guide covers products sold in Japan, checked on 18 October 2026. Yuskin is also known as 悠斯晶 in Taiwan; the classifications, claims and directions below follow current Japanese labeling.

What happened to Yuskin A and Yuskin S?
The name changed to ユースキン on 1 September 2020. The manufacturer confirms that this renewal did not change the ingredients or formula. The current orange-lid jar belongs to that classic cream line.
The S range became ユースキン シソラ on the same date. Some ingredients in the cream changed; the lotion formula stayed the same. It was not simply a name change for every S product.
Sisora packaging changed again in August 2024. This time the manufacturer explicitly states that ingredients and formulas did not change. Keep the 2020 renewal separate from the 2024 packaging update.
One more useful detail: current Sisora products still have “S” in their Japanese regulatory sales names. “薬用ユースキンS クリームd” or “薬用ユースキンS ローションa” does not automatically mean old stock. Check the complete pack, size and expiry date together.
Choose by purpose, texture and the exact name
| What to check | Orange Yuskin | Sisora Cream | Sisora Lotion |
|---|---|---|---|
| Japanese sales name | ユースキンAa | 薬用ユースキンS クリームd | 薬用ユースキンS ローションa |
| Japan classification | Designated quasi-drug | Quasi-drug | Quasi-drug |
| Main reason to choose | Cracks, chapping and chilblains (ひび・あかぎれ・しもやけ) | Moisturizing face and body; care for rough skin and prevention of dryness | The same moisturizing focus, with a lighter, easy-spreading feel |
| Manufacturer-described feel | Yellow cream with a camphor scent; becomes smoother as it is rubbed in | White cream; higher oil content and a richer feel | Milky lotion; higher water content and a lighter feel |
| Packs shown here | 120 g orange-lid jar | 110 g green-lid jar; also a 38 g tube | 170 mL pump; matching replacement pouch available |
All three are quasi-drugs in Japan, not medicines. The “designated” category is not a moisturizing-strength ranking. Orange Yuskin has the specific indications above. Sisora’s two products list rough-skin care, moisturizing and protecting skin, preventing dryness and razor irritation, and preventing hot sensations after sun or snow exposure. These claims should not be expanded into eczema or atopic-dermatitis treatment.
Recognize the current packs
Orange Yuskin: ユースキン120 g

Look for the orange lid, pale jar and the words “ひび・あかぎれ・しもやけ” on the carton. They are more useful than color alone when someone asks you to bring back Yuskin A. This cream also comes in tubes, pumps and replacement packs; a different size or container is not a fourth formula in this comparison.
Sisora Cream: クリーム110 g

The green-lid jar and green carton say “CREAM/クリーム.” Start here if you prefer a richer, more covering cream texture. The same cream also comes in a 38 g tube for carrying with you.
Sisora Lotion: ローション170 mL

Look for “LOTION/ローション” and 170 mL. Here, lotion means a milky moisturizer, rather than a watery toner. The manufacturer also says it can serve as your moisturizing emulsion after washing your face.
Both the 170 mL pump and its replacement pouch are marked as available through selected retail companies. Do not assume every Japanese drugstore stocks them. The old 76 mL lotion tube is listed as discontinued; check your intended retailer before making a special trip. Store stock has not been verified.
Yellow cream, white cream and lotion: what feels different?
Where do orange Yuskin’s color and scent come from?
Vitamin B2 gives the cream its yellow color. Its distinctive camphor scent comes from the active ingredient dl-camphor (dl-カンフル). These are formula clues, not evidence that a stronger smell or cooling sensation means better results or better skin tolerance.

The image above is the manufacturer’s hand demonstration. Yuskin recommends rubbing the cream in until its feel becomes smooth. If application causes irritation, stop and reassess rather than rubbing harder.
Sisora: richer cream or lighter lotion?

The official demonstration photographs show Cream first, then Lotion. Cream contains relatively more oil and feels richer; Lotion contains relatively more water and feels lighter. The manufacturer describes the lotion as turning watery as it spreads. These are the manufacturer’s texture descriptions.
Sisora is labeled fragrance-free, colorant-free and alcohol-free (ethanol-free). Fragrance-free does not mean there can be no raw-ingredient smell, and ethanol-free does not mean there are no ingredients with “alcohol” in their names. The manufacturer has performed skin-irritation-related tests but explicitly notes that irritation is still possible.
The actives differ; shiso extract is a moisturizer
| Formula | Active ingredients | How to read this |
|---|---|---|
| Orange Yuskin | Per 1 g: tocopherol acetate 2 mg; glycyrrhetinic acid 2 mg; dl-camphor 8 mg; glycerin 0.4 g | Formula quantities, not an application dose. |
| Sisora Cream | Tocopherol acetate; dipotassium glycyrrhizate; isopropyl methylphenol | Its active combination differs from the lotion. |
| Sisora Lotion | Stearyl glycyrrhetinate; tocopherol acetate | The official pages do not disclose concentrations for these Sisora actives; do not invent a strength comparison. |
Both Sisora formulas list shiso leaf extract (シソエキス(2)) among their other ingredients for moisturizing. It is not an allergy or eczema medicine. Their bases also differ, so check the exact product’s complete ingredients if you have a known allergy or intolerance.
How to use each one
- Orange Yuskin: clean the affected skin, then rub in an appropriate amount several times a day. The manufacturer suggests after wet work, after bathing or before bed as useful care opportunities; it does not specify a fixed gram amount per application.
- Sisora Cream: spread an appropriate amount over clean skin, for example after washing your face or bathing.
- Sisora Lotion: likewise, spread an appropriate amount over clean skin. There is no fixed official number of pump presses. If it does not feel rich enough, the product FAQ suggests adding Sisora Cream; buying both is optional.
Face, children and pregnancy: read the product-specific conditions
Face: each product’s own FAQ permits facial use if it suits your skin, advises a small trial under the chin or on similarly delicate skin, and says to keep it out of the eyes. Orange Yuskin has an additional warning that the eye area may feel cool or sting, and it must not be used on the lips or other mucous membranes.
Children: the manufacturer answers separately for each of these three products that there is no age restriction if it suits the skin. That is not a diagnosis for a baby’s rash. Orange Yuskin’s instructions require adult supervision when children use it. Try a small amount before using any of them on a child, and seek professional advice about unexplained or recurring skin problems.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding: each of the three product FAQs permits use if it suits the skin, while warning that skin may be more sensitive during these periods. Stop and wash it off if redness, itching or irritation develops. Ask a clinician or pharmacist if you are concerned or plan to apply it where a baby may come into contact with it.
When should you stop or avoid use?
Orange Yuskin has a specific do-not-use warning: do not use it if skin is severely weeping or eroded. Ask a doctor, pharmacist or registered OTC seller before use if medicines or cosmetics have previously caused an allergic reaction. Stop immediately and seek advice with the product if a rash, redness or itching develops.
Both Sisora products: discontinue use if skin is abnormal or the product does not suit it. If redness, swelling, itching, irritation, loss of pigmentation such as white patches, or darkening occurs during use, afterward or after sun exposure, stop and consult a dermatologist. A sensitive-skin label does not justify continuing on worsening skin.
Keep all three out of the eyes and rinse immediately if contact occurs. Orange Yuskin’s insert additionally directs you to an ophthalmologist for severe symptoms. If you want an itch-treatment medicine, explain that need separately: Yuskin I is a different medicine range, and this guide does not cover it. For the distinction between itch medicines and everyday moisturizing, see the AD Cream versus MUHI Soft GX guide.
Tube or replacement pouch? One last shelf check

- Sisora Cream: the 38 g tube and 110 g jar contain the same cream; choose the container that fits your routine.
- Sisora Lotion: the 170 mL “つけかえパウチ” replaces the inner pouch in the matching pump container. It is not refill liquid to decant into any spare bottle.
- Storage for all three: keep in a cool place away from direct sunlight, heat, humidity and children. Use promptly after opening; do not use beyond the expiry date or if color or smell changes. Do not decant into another container.
My shelf check: old A points you toward orange Yuskin; old S means you still need to choose Sisora Cream or Lotion. Match the purpose, choose your texture, then check “クリーム/ローション,” size and expiry date.
