For a regular face-and-body sunscreen in an 80 g bottle, consider NIVEA UV Deep Protect & Care Gel. For a fragrance-free pump to keep by your morning routine, look at Water Gel EX Pump 270 g. For a spray format that can also be used on hair, there is Deep Protect & Care Milk Mist 60 mL—but never spray it directly onto your face, even over makeup.
Checked: 19 October 2026. This guide covers the three specified Japanese-market cosmetics. Match the full name and size when buying; overseas versions and other NIVEA UV products may have different formulas or directions.

Which bottle fits your routine?
Deep Protect & Care Gel 80 g: a scented face-and-body gel

The Japanese name is ニベアUV ディーププロテクト&ケア ジェル. This is a face-and-body gel that can also be used under makeup. Its label specifies a clear-floral fragrance. It is an option if you want to dispense gel into your hand without a large pump bottle and are comfortable with fragrance.
Kao describes its moisturising ingredients as part of its skincare-oriented sun protection. The claim about preventing sun-related spots refers to protection from sun exposure; it does not mean that this cosmetic removes existing pigmentation. Compared with the mist, the routine is straightforward: dispense into your hand and spread enough evenly over your skin.
Water Gel EX Pump 270 g: fragrance-free, with a large pump

Look for ニベアUV ウォータージェルEX ポンプ 270g. Kao describes this face-and-body gel as watery, quick to blend in and light, with a bare-skin-like feel. It can also be used under makeup. This exact 270 g pump is fragrance-free, but contains ethanol. Fragrance-free does not mean alcohol-free or guarantee that it will suit sensitive skin.
A large pump is a practical option to leave where you get ready, particularly when you want to apply sunscreen to larger areas of the body. That is a suggestion about the container, not a claim that it provides stronger protection than the other two. Keep its removable stopper: you need it for carrying the bottle or leaving it unused for a while.
At the shelf, check 270 g and the regulatory product name ニベアUVウォータージェルEXn. A similar-looking Water Gel bottle may be a different product.
Deep Protect & Care Milk Mist 60 mL: skin and hair, with a different application method

The Japanese name is ニベアUV ディーププロテクト&ケア ミルクミスト. This non-aerosol pump mist has a clear-floral fragrance. Kao describes the milky liquid turning into a mist that blends in without a white residue and gives a dewy finish. These are manufacturer descriptions, not my own wear-test results; the feel and appearance can vary.
It can be used on skin and hair, including for reapplication during the day. It needs shaking and spreading, and face application always starts in your palm. If your main aim is to reapply over makeup without touching your face at all, this is not the method its label allows. Choose it only if you are comfortable with that hand-first step and with protecting your surroundings from spray.
What the three share—and what they do not
- All three list SPF50+, PA++++ and Japanese UV water-resistance rating ★★. Those matching ratings do not make the formula, fragrance or application method interchangeable.
- All three contain ethanol. Deep Protect & Care Gel and Milk Mist contain fragrance; the 270 g Water Gel EX pump is fragrance-free. Check the complete ingredient list for the exact product if you need to avoid something.
- The water-resistance rating does not mean one morning application lasts all day. Enough product, even coverage and reapplication still matter.
- The labels do not specify a universal pump count or spray count for a whole face or body. Do not treat a single press as an established full-face dose.
Gel and pump: apply enough, then keep the container tidy
- For the 270 g pump’s first use: remove the translucent stopper and press a few times until product comes out. Replace the stopper when carrying it or when it will not be used for a while.
- For both gels: dispense an appropriate amount into your hand and spread evenly over your skin. Use enough; applying too little reduces the protection you can obtain.
- Avoid getting the liquid directly on clothing and let it dry before dressing.
- Reapply frequently, including after sweating or wiping with a towel.
The pump has an additional housekeeping caution: after storage in a hot place or a long gap in use, oil can separate from liquid remaining around the nozzle and may drip. Choose its resting place carefully and wipe any drips away promptly. This is not a reason to store it somewhere hot.
Milk Mist: shake, spread, and use your hand for your face
- Start the pump: press several times before first use. Each time you spray, push the pump all the way down. If it is difficult to dispense, press a few times until it comes out as a mist.
- Shake before use. For body skin or hair, hold it about 10–15 cm away, spray an appropriate amount without getting it on clothes, floors or nearby objects, then spread it evenly. Do not leave patchy coverage or use too little.
- For your face, dispense into your palm first, then apply in small portions. Follow exactly the same hand-first method over makeup. Do not spray directly at your face or use on mucous membranes, and avoid inhaling the mist.
- Reapply frequently, especially after wiping away sweat.
- After use, wipe the outlet clean to help prevent drips and clogging, then close the cap firmly. Make sure the cap does not come off when carrying it.
Kao says the mist can also be used upside down. That convenience does not change the face, inhalation or surrounding-surface precautions. I’d decide whether these steps fit your actual routine before choosing it just because it says “mist”.
How to wash each one off
- Deep Protect & Care Gel and Water Gel EX Pump: wash thoroughly with your usual soap, facial cleanser or body wash, as appropriate to the area.
- Milk Mist: wash hair thoroughly with shampoo; use your usual facial cleanser or makeup cleanser for your face, and body wash for your body.
If you are wearing makeup, also follow its removal instructions. “Washable with soap” is not permission to skip thorough cleansing or the cleanser your makeup requires.
Skin, clothing and storage precautions
- Do not use any of the three on cuts, swelling, eczema or other abnormal skin. Watch for skin changes while using them.
- If a product does not suit your skin, or you develop redness, swelling, itching, irritation, loss of colour such as white patches, or darkening, stop using it and consult a dermatologist. Do the same if sunlight brings on these changes after use. Continuing use can worsen symptoms.
- Avoid contact with the eyes. If product enters your eyes, rinse thoroughly immediately.
- Avoid contact with clothes. If it gets on fabric, carefully spot-wash promptly with detergent. Do not use chlorine bleach: the affected area may turn pink or another colour.
- With the mist, promptly wipe off any product that reaches floors, washbasins, furniture, leather items, jewellery or nails, as it may cause discolouration or damage. Avoid inhalation, direct facial spraying and use on mucous membranes.
- Keep away from extreme heat, such as inside a car, and direct sunlight. Store where children, people with dementia and others at risk cannot accidentally ingest it.
