Shopping for the large Kikumasamune pump bottle? Start with texture and fragrance tolerance: Transparent Moisture is the everyday moisture option; High Moisture adds ceramides and a thicker liquid; Firmness & Glow adds niacinamide to a rich moisturising formula. All three are 500mL cosmetic lotions for face and body.
I’m Irene, a Taiwan-born, Japan-licensed pharmacist working in a Japanese drugstore. This guide compares three Japanese Kikumasamune lotions by their labels. It is a label-based buying guide, not my personal product test.
Japanese official information checked: October 22, 2026. Only the three named standard 500mL lotions are compared; limited scents, emulsions and other Kikumasamune ranges are excluded.
Which bottle fits the routine you already have?
Transparent Moisture: start with straightforward hydration
Look for 透明保湿. The formula combines sake-derived rice ferment filtrate, amino acids and vitamin derivatives. Consider this when you want a face-and-body lotion without specifically seeking the richer textures described for the other two. “Transparent” is a product name, not a promise to remove pigmentation.
High Moisture: a thicker, ceramide-containing option
Look for 高保湿. The manufacturer describes a thickened liquid and lists ceramides 3 and 6 II. This is the one to compare if a richer moisturising lotion sounds useful. The “high moisture” comparison is against the company’s own product, not proof that it outperforms every other brand.
Firmness & Glow: rich texture, with niacinamide
Look for ハリつや保湿. The rich, thickened formula includes ceramides NP/AP and niacinamide. Its ageing-care language means care appropriate to age. Choose it for that moisturising formulation, not as a guaranteed wrinkle or acne treatment.
Fragrance and alcohol: do not assume “free from”
All three ingredient lists include fragrance (香料). Weak acidity, no added colour and no mineral oil do not mean fragrance-free. The company’s cosmetics FAQ states alcohol content is below 1%; that is not an alcohol-free claim. If you need to avoid alcohol or fragrance, these labels deserve attention before you buy a large bottle.
Transparent Moisture also lists peanut oil; High Moisture and Firmness & Glow list soy protein. Check the full ingredient list against any ingredient you have been advised to avoid. The brand says this range is not specifically designed for atopic or sensitive skin.
Apply gently; a pump is not a measured dose
- Hold the pump base and turn the nozzle left to unlock it, then prime the pump.
- After cleansing, take an appropriate amount in your hand and spread gently. The products can also be used on the body after bathing.
- If using lotion-soaked cotton as a pack, the official guide is about five minutes. This is optional, not a reason to soak irritated skin or leave a pack on overnight.
Press the pump slowly to avoid splashing. You do not need all three bottles in one routine. Pick one, then decide whether your usual subsequent moisturiser is needed.
When to stop, and how to store it
Do not use on wounds, swelling or eczema. Stop if redness, swelling, itching, irritation, pale patches or darkening occur, including after sun exposure, and consult a dermatologist. Rinse immediately if it enters the eyes. These are cosmetics, not drinks.
Keep away from children, direct sun and extreme heat or cold; ordinary indoor storage is acceptable under the brand FAQ. Do not assume the large bottle provides sun protection: the manufacturer says it does not.
