Start with yellow Hydra V if you are interested in a vitamin-focused moisturizing formula for skin that looks dull from dryness. Look at green Precious GREEN Glow Up if your priority is a daily moisturizing step with ceramides. These are formula-based starting points, not a guarantee that one suits your skin better. Both come in seven-sheet pouches, a practical first choice if you are new to the product.
The larger packs differ: Hydra V contains 28 sheets; Precious GREEN Glow Up contains 32. Both are cosmetic sheet masks used after cleansing in the toner step. Leave on for about 5–10 minutes, then follow with an emulsion (a lightweight moisturizer) or cream as needed.
Find the right yellow and green packs
This guide covers the Japanese-market ルルルン ハイドラ V マスク (LuLuLun Hydra V Mask) and the current ルルルンプレシャス GREEN(Glow Up). Importers may use different translated names. The full Japanese name, sheet count and barcode are more useful than colour alone.
Hydra V: the yellow pack with a large V

- Seven sheets: 150 mL of essence in the whole pouch; barcode 4580794010295.
- 28 sheets: 510 mL of essence in the whole box; barcode 4580794010301.
Look for V マスク. Other Hydra variants such as EX, CX and PD, and the separate Hydra V Oil, are different products. The essence volume is the total pack contents, not an amount to measure out for each use.
Precious GREEN Glow Up: the current green version

- Seven sheets: 150 mL of essence; barcode 4580794012565.
- 32 sheets: 560 mL of essence; barcode 4580794012534.
GREEN was renewed as Glow Up in 2025. Older GREEN “Balance” descriptions remain online, but the word BALANCE still appears on the current seven-sheet pouch. Check the complete design, barcode and ingredient list rather than using that word alone to decide whether a pack is old.
Which formula is the more useful starting point?
Hydra V centres its manufacturer description on vitamins and plant extracts. Its ingredients include niacinamide, panthenol, several vitamin C derivatives and retinyl palmitate. A small pack is a sensible way to try this type of moisturizing formula. Ingredient names do not reveal their concentrations or establish equivalence to a concentrated serum or an aesthetic procedure.
Precious GREEN Glow Up includes ceramides NP, NG and AP, plus moisturizing ingredients such as jojoba esters and squalene. It is an option to consider when your main goal is a regular moisturizing step. The ingredient list alone cannot establish that it feels richer, causes less irritation or treats eczema.
Both contain moisturizing ingredients such as glycerin. “Vitamin” and “Precious” are not a scale of strength, and there is no need to apply both masks in one evening to collect more ingredients.
Irene’s tip: For first-time users and people prone to cosmetic reactions, the manufacturer advises trying the product on an inconspicuous area such as the inner arm and checking the following day for redness or itching before use. If you have a known ingredient allergy, check the full list. Hydra V also lists peanut oil; the vitamin wording on the front does not tell the whole story.
Seven sheets or a large box?
The seven-sheet option is useful for trying a formula or packing for a short trip. It is one resealable pouch holding seven masks, not seven individually sealed sachets. Close it carefully after each use.
At one sheet once a day, a 28-sheet box lasts four weeks and a 32-sheet box lasts 32 days; a seven-sheet pouch lasts a week. This is pack arithmetic, not a daily-use requirement or an opened-product shelf life. The maker says to use opened packs promptly.
To compare offers, divide the price by the sheet count, then consider whether you will actually finish the pack. A bigger box is less useful if it stays open while you rarely use it. Shop discounts, tax-free conditions and price changes can also affect the comparison.
How to use either mask
Cleanse → sheet mask in place of toner → emulsion or cream. Here, toner means the watery moisturizing step often called “lotion” in Japanese skin care. It does not mean an exfoliating acid toner. You do not need to buy an extra toner just to use these masks.
- Cleanse your face and wash your hands. Take out one mask and reseal the pack immediately.
- Unfold it, align the eye and mouth openings, and press gently into place. Follow the lower-cheek cuts to fit the sheet upward along the facial outline.
- Remove after about 5–10 minutes. Do not sleep in it or wait for the sheet to dry.
- The maker’s diagrams describe folding the removed sheet for a gentle wipe, followed by light patting. Avoid vigorous rubbing. Follow with an emulsion or cream as needed.
Leftover essence does not make a used sheet reusable. Use each sheet once, and do not return a removed sheet to the pack, even if you accidentally took out more than one.
Keeping an opened pack clean
Keep the original pack clean and close it firmly after every use. For the box format, leave the inner pouch inside the box for use and storage. Wipe off water promptly if the box or opening gets wet, and store it with the lid or seal facing upward to reduce leakage.
Avoid direct sunlight and very hot, humid or cold places; keep away from infants and young children. For travel, choosing a seven-sheet pouch makes it easier to follow the original packaging instructions than transferring loose masks into another container.
When to skip the mask
Do not apply over wounds, swelling, eczema, rashes or damaged, weeping skin. Stop if redness, swelling, itching, irritation, white patches or darkening develops during use, or after sun exposure following use, and consult a dermatologist. Rinse immediately if essence enters your eyes; seek eye-care advice if symptoms remain.
You do not need to tolerate stinging to finish the suggested wear time. A sheet mask is optional skin care, not a replacement for treatment. If you use prescription skin products and are unsure about adding a mask, show the ingredient list and your existing products to a pharmacist or clinician.
Your quick shopping checklist
- Consider Hydra V for its vitamin-focused formula or current GREEN Glow Up for its ceramide-containing moisturizing formula, then let your skin’s tolerance guide you.
- Try seven sheets first if the product is new to you. Remember: the large yellow box has 28; the green box has 32.
- Allow 5–10 minutes, follow with moisturizer, and reseal the pack after taking out a sheet.
