ROSY ROSA Realook Mirrors: Mini, Compact or Regular for Your Bag?

Complete official ROSY ROSA Realook Mini, Compact and Regular packages, with body sizes and weights; images not to a common scale Japan Drugstore Guides

For a small pouch, start by checking the Mini’s dimensions. For a larger body, compare Compact and Regular. ROSY ROSA’s Realook mirrors have similar names but quite different sizes and weights. Your bag, where you plan to use the mirror and whether you need lighting matter more than choosing by the “95% reflectance” claim alone.

Identify the version before comparing sizes

Look for the Japanese name リアルックミラー, then check for 〈ミニ〉 (Mini) or 〈コンパクト〉 (Compact). “Regular” below means the version without either suffix. Other sizes and limited editions are outside this comparison.

All figures below are official body dimensions and body weights. Dimensions are width × depth × height, not the usable reflective area or retail packaging size.

Mini: check this first for a small pouch

54 × 5 × 85 mm; 24 g. Japanese name: リアルックミラー〈ミニ〉. Black version’s product code: 4901604457299.

This has the smallest, lightest body of the three. Compare those measurements with your pouch before buying: “Mini” does not mean keychain-sized or guarantee that it fits a tiny pocket. If even a card-sized object feels too large for your bag, check carefully.

Compact: the middle body size

94 × 6 × 103 mm; 79 g. Japanese name: リアルックミラー〈コンパクト〉. Product code: 4901604455400.

It is wider and heavier than Mini. Consider this next if Mini’s dimensions do not suit you; the name “Compact” does not make it the smallest option in this range.

Regular: allow more room in your bag

105 × 6 × 140 mm; 106 g. Japanese name: リアルックミラー. Product code: 4901604454564.

This has the largest, heaviest body of these three. If you prefer a larger mirror, check the packing space first. Body dimensions alone do not establish how much of your face you will see at a particular distance.

Body size and package size are different

For Mini, the manufacturer separately lists the packaging at 64 × 5 × 114 mm and 25 g. The body itself is 54 × 5 × 85 mm and 24 g. Compact’s packaging is 105 × 6 × 140 mm and 80 g; Regular’s is 105 × 6 × 175 mm and 109 g.

Use the body measurements when checking your everyday pouch. If you plan to carry the unopened product, allow for the packaging too. A retailer’s size field is worth checking against these two different sets of figures.

For a hotel room, identify the actual problem

A fixed mirror too far from the chair, an occupied bathroom and inadequate light are different problems. A portable mirror lets you choose a different position; high reflectance alone does not guarantee that poor lighting will be solved.

  • Quick touch-ups away from home: prioritise packing size and convenient access. Travel does not automatically call for the largest version.
  • Seated makeup: check where you could place the mirror and whether its angle and distance work for you. We have not tested these models for stability, grip or angle retention on a hotel desk.
  • Built-in light or magnification is essential: look for a product explicitly specified for that function. The “95%” figure is not a lighting or magnification specification.

These are shopping checks, not a claim that everyone needs another travel mirror. If the mirror you already own fits your bag and works where you need it, there is no reason to replace it just to match this brand.

What “95% reflectance” does—and does not—tell you

The brand describes silver-backed, high-reflectance mirrors. The Regular and Mini product-page text states 95% reflectance; the official Compact package photograph also shows that figure. The manufacturer describes measurement with a mirror reflectance meter under a halogen lamp, based on the measurement method in JIS D5705.

Read this as a manufacturer’s reflectance result under specified conditions. It is not a refractive index, magnification factor or a finding of “95% colour accuracy”. It does not guarantee perfect skin-tone reproduction in every room, compensate for the lighting around you or ensure that you will never apply too much foundation. This guide includes no independent comparison under different light sources.

Clean with a dry, soft cloth—not alcohol wipes

The care instructions for all three say to gently wipe away dirt or cosmetics with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use products containing alcohol, nail-polish remover or detergents. That rules out reaching for an alcohol wipe simply because it is already in your travel bag.

The manufacturer warns that cosmetics and hair-care products can cause mirror corrosion or body damage. Check bottle caps and leaks before packing the mirror beside them. If gentle wiping does not remove a mark, do not escalate to a stronger solvent.

Pack it as glass, not as a shatterproof accessory

  • The mirror is glass and the body is ABS resin. Dropping it or applying strong force can break it and cause injury. A thin body or a lid is not a guarantee against breakage.
  • Avoid crushing it under heavy items, and keep leaking cosmetics away from it.
  • Keep it away from fire. Do not store it in direct sunlight, strong light, high heat or humidity, and keep it out of children’s reach.

Before buying, finish this sentence: “I need a mirror with a smaller body, a larger body, or a specific lighting or magnification function.” That gives you a more useful starting point than the Realook name or the percentage on the package.
