ANERON motion sickness capsules are for ages 15 and over: one capsule, once a day. For prevention, take it with water 30 minutes before travel. It can also relieve symptoms after motion sickness starts, but do not take another capsule if you have already taken today’s dose. Do not drive or operate machinery after taking it.
A morning coach trip, an afternoon ferry, then a rental car back to the hotel? Before choosing a travel medicine, let’s check who is driving. The useful question is not just when to take a capsule, but whether the medicine fits the whole day’s itinerary.
Check these four things before packing
- Under 15? Do not use this product or split a capsule for a child.
- Driving later? Do not plan to take ANERON and then drive.
- Already taking cold, pain or allergy medicine? Check the prohibited combinations below first.
- Eligible to use it, with no dose taken today? For prevention, plan one capsule 30 minutes before departure.

I’m Irene, a Taiwanese pharmacist working in Japan. Before you leave, let’s check who is driving and who has already taken medicine. A quick check now can prevent an awkward decision when it is time to head back.
Find the right ANERON box in Japan
This guide covers the Japanese long-acting capsule for ages 15 and over. To match it at the pharmacy, use the full Japanese name: アネロン「ニスキャップ」. You may also see “ANERON NYSCAPS” in manufacturer materials. Check the complete name, age limit and capsule form rather than relying on the brand alone.

The manufacturer lists packs of 4, 6 and 10 capsules. A larger pack gives you more capsules, not a stronger dose. Traditional Chinese shopping guides sometimes call it the “white rabbit” motion sickness medicine; that nickname alone is not enough to identify a product or confirm its formulation.
Fit the dose around your journey
- Check suitability before setting a reminder. Consider age, other medicines, the advice-before-use list below and who will drive.
- For prevention, take one capsule 30 minutes before departure. For a 9 am departure, that means 8:30 am. Swallow with water or lukewarm water. It can be taken before or after food.
- Already feeling motion sick? The manufacturer confirms it can relieve symptoms after they start. The same age limit, once-daily dose and precautions apply.
- A change of transport does not start a new dosing schedule. If you took it for the morning coach, do not add a second capsule for the afternoon ferry or the journey home.
The long-acting formulation reduces how often you need to take it. It does not guarantee a completely symptom-free journey, and “once daily” does not establish a safe time to resume driving. If your itinerary includes driving after a boat trip, arrange another driver or transport and discuss the medicine with a pharmacist before leaving.
Swallow the capsule whole

The granules have a special coating that allows ingredients to be released gradually. The manufacturer’s FAQ says not to remove the shell and take only the contents. If you cannot swallow this capsule, ask a pharmacist about a suitable alternative form.
What is in one capsule?
The labelled uses are prevention and relief of nausea, dizziness and headache caused by motion sickness. Each capsule contains five active ingredients:
- Pheniramine maleate, 30 mg: an antihistamine that helps suppress signals involved in nausea and dizziness.
- Benzocaine (ethyl aminobenzoate), 50 mg: acts locally on the stomach lining to relieve nausea.
- Scopolamine hydrobromide hydrate, 0.2 mg: has an anticholinergic action that helps relieve motion sickness symptoms.
- Anhydrous caffeine, 20 mg: helps relieve motion-sickness-related dizziness and headache.
- Pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6), 5 mg: one of the components used to relieve nausea in this combination.
Caffeine does not make this a non-drowsy product. Drowsiness, blurred vision or unusual sensitivity to light may occur. The driving restriction still applies even if you feel alert.
Check your travel medicine bag before taking it
While taking ANERON, do not use other motion sickness medicines, cold medicines, fever or pain relievers, sedatives, cough/expectorant medicines, medicines for gastrointestinal pain or spasms, or oral medicines containing antihistamines, including some oral rhinitis and allergy products.
Different symptoms do not automatically make two medicines a safe combination. For example, taking a painkiller for a headache alongside ANERON is prohibited by its leaflet. If you packed EVE, the EVE product comparison can help identify your box; it is not a recommendation to combine them. Show a pharmacist all the packages and the times you took them rather than guessing a safe gap.
Get advice before use if any of these apply
- You are receiving medical treatment.
- You are pregnant or might be pregnant.
- You are an older adult.
- You have previously had allergic symptoms from a medicine or another substance.
- You have difficulty urinating.
- You have been diagnosed with glaucoma or heart disease.
Children under 15 must not take this product. Reducing the dose does not remove that restriction. If you are breastfeeding, tell the pharmacist as part of your full medication review; an unlisted situation should not be treated as proof of suitability.
When to stop and seek advice
Stop taking it and consult a doctor, pharmacist or registered medicine seller if you develop a rash, redness, itching, headache, palpitations, difficulty urinating, facial flushing or unusual light sensitivity. Take the leaflet with you. Also stop and seek advice if dry mouth, constipation, diarrhoea, drowsiness or blurred vision persists or worsens.
Headache appears both among motion sickness symptoms and among reactions to watch for after a dose. A new or unusual headache after taking the medicine is not a reason to add another drug. Persistent vomiting, severe symptoms or continuing illness away from the journey needs medical assessment rather than simply more travel medicine.
Make the medicine easy to identify during the trip

Get enough sleep before travelling, eat a moderate amount of easily digested food and choose a seat with less movement where possible. Sit comfortably and look at distant scenery. Store the medicine somewhere cool and dry, away from direct sunlight and out of children’s reach; do not leave it in a sun-heated car or use it after its expiry date.
If your main problem is discomfort after a meal, first consider whether motion sickness is actually the issue. ANERON is not a general treatment for every cause of nausea. The separate Cabagin stomach medicine guide explains a different product category; it is not advice to combine stomach medicines with ANERON.
Common questions
I missed the 30-minute window. Can I take it after symptoms start?
Yes, the manufacturer says it can relieve motion sickness symptoms after they begin. You must still meet the age and suitability requirements, and must not already have taken your daily dose.
Can I take another capsule for the return journey?
No. The directions are once a day, not once per journey. If symptoms are not controlled, get advice instead of increasing the dose.
Can I take it on several consecutive days of a cruise?
The manufacturer’s FAQ says use for about a week is generally possible, but circumstances vary and longer use requires professional advice. That is not individual clearance for a week of treatment: the usual restrictions and interaction checks still apply.
Can I share a capsule with a child by dividing the contents?
No. This product is not for anyone under 15, and its shell must not be removed to take the contents. Ask a pharmacist for a product appropriate to the child’s actual age.
How many hours should I wait before driving?
The official sources used here do not give a universal safe waiting period. Do not drive after taking it. If you need to drive during the trip, discuss the plan with a pharmacist beforehand.
Sources and scope
This guide explains the Japanese product label and supports informed shopping; it cannot replace individual medical advice. Check the latest leaflet supplied with your own box. A similar overseas name does not establish that the formulation is identical.
