Which Quality 1st DermaLaser Mask Should You Buy? Gold, Silver, Blue, Green, Red and Black Compared

DermaLaser representative gold, silver, blue, green and red mask pouches Japan Drugstore Guides

Faced with a wall of Quality 1st masks in a Japanese drugstore? Start with one skincare priority:

  • Dryness: look at blue SUPER CERAMIDE100.
  • Smoother-looking skin and the appearance of pores: start with gold SUPER VC100.
  • Dullness associated with dryness: compare silver SUPER VC100 WHITE.
  • Everyday skin conditioning with a tea-tree formula: consider green SUPER TEATREE100. Skip masking if your skin is already sore or irritated.
  • An evening routine focused on supple-feeling skin: look at red SUPER RETINOL100, which is labeled for night use.
  • A premium black pouch: check whether it says SUPER BLACK or SPECTER VCMAX Z before paying more.
Irene

I’m Irene, a Taiwan-born, Japan-licensed pharmacist working in a Japanese drugstore. Start with what your skin needs and the full name on the pouch; you don’t need to choose the highest ingredient percentage.

This guide covers Japanese-market full-face sheet masks, checked on October 11, 2026. The manufacturer classifies these products as cosmetics, not medicines or Japanese quasi-drugs. The name DermaLaser does not mean the mask performs a medical laser treatment.

Start with the five familiar colors

These five masks each contain seven sheets and were listed at ¥880 including Japanese tax on the official site when checked. Retail prices and stock can differ. Each has an approximately three-minute application time.

Pouch / front label

Gold: SUPER VC100

What to consider it for
Hydration for smoother-looking skin and less noticeable pores; four vitamin-C-related ingredients
Important distinction
Cosmetic pore care does not permanently shrink pores. “100” is not a 100% vitamin C concentration.

Blue: SUPER CERAMIDE100

What to consider it for
Moisturizing dry skin; includes ceramides and other moisturizing ingredients
Important distinction
A moisturizing formula is not a guarantee of suitability for sensitive skin.

Silver: SUPER VC100 WHITE

What to consider it for
Radiance and dullness associated with dryness; a different vitamin C combination from gold
Important distinction
WHITE is part of the cosmetic product name, not proof of a medicated pigmentation treatment.

Green: SUPER TEATREE100

What to consider it for
Everyday skin conditioning with tea-tree-derived ingredients
Important distinction
It is not an acne medicine or an antibacterial treatment.

Red: SUPER RETINOL100

What to consider it for
An evening moisturizing routine for supple-feeling skin; the manufacturer’s highlighted ingredient is hydrogenated retinol
Important distinction
Night use, about three minutes. Do not borrow concentration claims or directions from another retinol product.

Gold or silver?

Choose by the outcome you want from a moisturizing mask. Gold is the straightforward starting point for skin texture and pore appearance. Silver is positioned more toward the appearance of dryness-related dullness. Neither name establishes that one works faster or is universally better.

Blue, green or red?

If dryness is your main concern, compare blue first. Green gives you a tea-tree-based conditioning option. Red adds an important scheduling difference: it is a night-use mask. Do not assume it shares the morning-and-evening directions of the other colors.

The two black pouches are different products

A shopping note that only says “the black one” is not specific enough. Both of these contain seven sheets and use approximately three-minute applications.

Check the full name

SUPER BLACK VC100

Formula and sheet differences
Five vitamin-C-related ingredients, 10% niacinamide as a moisturizer, and a thick Extreme Sheet
Official tax-inclusive price / identification
¥1,210; black-and-gold design

SPECTER VCMAX MASK Z

Formula and sheet differences
Five vitamin-C-related ingredients, 12% niacinamide as a moisturizer, glutathione as a skin-conditioning ingredient, and a three-layer Extreme Sheet
Official tax-inclusive price / identification
¥1,320; black-and-silver design with a large Z

SPECTER is being discontinued. The official notice gives an approximate selling period through December 2026, with individual products ending earlier if stock runs out. The listed mask is VCMAX MASK Z; older VCMAX information should not automatically be applied to it.

Compare the sheet, formula and price if you want a premium option. The difference between 10% and 12% niacinamide does not establish which mask will suit you better. A first purchase does not need to be the one with the largest number.

What about PRO and the other ingredient-led masks?

You do not need to collect the range. If one of the choices above matches your needs, it is reasonable to stop there. Use this section when a different name catches your eye.

The current PRO range

All three are seven-sheet cosmetics, listed at ¥990 including tax, with three-layer sheets and approximately three-minute applications. The English descriptions below explain the shopping purpose; the Japanese column lets you match the exact package name.

PRO option, described in English

Hydration and a dewy, supple look

Official Japanese identifier
ダーマレーザーPRO 超水光マスク
Formula cue
Moisturizing ingredients including sodium DNA and hydrolyzed DNA, plus vitamin-C-related ingredients

Radiance and smoother-looking skin

Official Japanese identifier
ダーマレーザーPRO 超白玉マスク
Formula cue
Glutathione and glycylglycine as skin-conditioning ingredients

Moisture/oil balance and skin conditioning

Official Japanese identifier
ダーマレーザーPRO 超沈整マスク
Formula cue
Azelaic acid and sodium guaiazulene sulfonate as skin-conditioning ingredients

These are cosmetic skincare descriptions, not evidence of injection-like results or treatment of skin disease. PRO is also not a one-to-one replacement chart for the original five colors.

Other names in the standard range

The following are also listed as seven-sheet cosmetics, at ¥880 including tax, with approximately three-minute use:

  • SUPER NMN100: a moisturizing, suppleness-focused option with NMN and niacinamide.
  • SUPER GLUTATHIONE100: an ingredient-led option positioned toward dryness-related dullness.
  • SUPER EXOSOME100: positioned toward supple-feeling skin, with exosome-related skin-conditioning ingredients; it is not regenerative medicine.
  • SUPER AZ100: skin conditioning with azelaic acid; it is not equivalent to a medicinal azelaic acid treatment.

For a simple hydration purchase, you do not need to research every trending ingredient first. Starting with one product also makes it easier to tell how your skin responds.

Check these four things before paying

  1. Range name: DERMA LASER, SUPER BLACK, SPECTER or PRO.
  2. Full variant name: VC100, WHITE, RETINOL, CERAMIDE or TEATREE, plus any Z, EX or cooling designation.
  3. Product type and sheet count: full-face masks, eye sheets and small treatment sheets are different products. A bigger box is not a stronger mask.
  4. Directions on your own pack: follow its time limit and warnings, especially with revised packaging or overseas-market versions.

For travel, VC100 EX is a separately wrapped single-sheet option. The manufacturer describes a thicker, three-layer sheet and more serum, so it is not simply a seven-sheet pouch with six sheets removed. Cooling VC100 adds menthol and other ingredients for a cooling sensation; choose the regular version if that is not a feature you want. VC100 BOX contains 20 sheets; do not infer identical formulation or better results from the pack size alone.

How to use them: after cleansing, for about three minutes

Use the masks in this guide for about three minutes. Red RETINOL100 is for the evening. For other Quality 1st products, check the directions on the pack.

  1. Cleanse your face. With clean hands, remove and unfold one sheet.
  2. Align the eye openings, then the mouth opening, and fit the sheet to your face. Keep the liquid out of your eyes.
  3. Remove after about three minutes, then wipe gently. Do not rub vigorously.
  4. Continue with skincare that suits you. Use gold and red masks after cleansing, before serum and cream. You do not need to buy an entire matching routine.

Do not sleep in the mask or leave it on longer in an attempt to get more benefit. Use each sheet once, reseal the pouch after taking one out, and follow the storage instructions.

If it stings, should you finish the three minutes?

No. If you develop stinging, redness, swelling, itching or another abnormal reaction, remove the mask, stop using it and consult a dermatologist. Do not use it on wounds, swelling or eczema-affected areas. If you are treating a skin condition or have reacted to an ingredient before, show the full ingredient list to your clinician or pharmacist.

“Free from” claims and a moisturizing formula do not guarantee that everyone will tolerate a product. Avoid introducing several new exfoliating, retinol or concentrated skincare products at the same time as a new mask, so you can more easily identify the source of any reaction.

Irene’s final shelf-side check

Blue for dryness; gold for texture and pore appearance; silver for dryness-related dullness; green for tea-tree conditioning; red for an evening suppleness-focused routine. Consider black after comparing its sheet, formula and price, and remember the SPECTER discontinuation notice.

One suitable pouch is a better starting point than every color in the range.
