Choosing between CEZANNE’s pink and orange primer bottles? Start with your concern, not the packaging. If shine is the main issue, consider the original; if dryness matters too, look more closely at Moist Type. Then check the tint and removal routine. The orange bottle is not simply a “stronger” pink one.

I’m Irene, a Taiwanese pharmacist licensed in Japan and working in a Japanese drugstore. This guide turns official Japanese information into three shopping decisions: your concern, the tint and removal. It is not a personal wear test or swatch review.
Japanese official information checked: October 22, 2026. This guide compares only the Japan-market Pink Beige original and Orange Beige Moist Type, not the entire range or versions sold elsewhere.
- Start with the concern: shine alone, or dryness too?
- The formula category is only half the choice: check the tint
- Shake before makeup; distinguish the removal instructions
- SPF on a primer does not make a thin layer all-day sun protection
- Final shelf check: product name, shade and the package in your hand
- Sources and image notes
Start with the concern: shine alone, or dryness too?
Consider the original when shine is the priority
皮脂テカリ防止下地
Make Keep Base — Pink Beige
ピンクベージュ

CEZANNE positions this as a sebum-absorbing makeup primer. Pink Beige adds a subtly brighter-looking complexion: a cosmetic effect, not a change to your natural skin colour.
- 30mL; official listed price ¥660 including tax.
- SPF28 · PA++ · UV water resistance ★★.
- JAN: 4939553040057.
If dryness is not your main concern, this can be a starting point. That is not a promise that it suits everyone with oily skin.
Consider Moist Type when dryness also matters
皮脂テカリ防止下地 保湿タイプ
Make Keep Base Moist Type — Orange Beige
オレンジベージュ

The brand positions this moisturizing version for both shine and dryness concerns. Its orange-beige tint helps disguise uneven-looking colour; it is not a dark-spot treatment.
- 30mL; official listed price ¥770 including tax.
- SPF28 · PA+++.
- JAN: 4939553041542.
Consider it if a drier finish is not your only goal. “Moist Type” does not guarantee a match for every dry skin type or prevent every foundation combination from looking patchy.
These are complete official product images, not our own photographs or swatches. Check actual store prices and stock. Do not transfer the original’s UV water-resistance stars to Moist Type. Both products’ waterproof makeup claims are not guarantees against all makeup wear.
The formula category is only half the choice: check the tint
Do not buy Orange Beige just because you want the moisturizing option, or judge its depth from the bottle photograph. If a store has a usable tester, follow its hygiene instructions and check a thin application and its appearance with your usual foundation. A colour check on your hand is not an all-day wear test.
Buying for someone else? Confirm the full Japanese product name and shade. If the tint is uncertain, postponing the purchase is more useful than choosing solely by age or an “oily/dry skin” label.
Shake before makeup; distinguish the removal instructions
For both, the official directions say to shake well, then spread an appropriate amount thinly and evenly before foundation. There is no universal drop count in those instructions. Stop if a product does not agree with your skin. Neither is presented here as acne treatment or guaranteed safe for sensitive skin.
- Pink Beige original: the soap/facial-wash removal claim applies when used alone. CEZANNE’s FAQ specifies using makeup remover when another product is layered with it.
- Orange Beige Moist Type: do not borrow the original’s wash-off claim. CEZANNE separately specifies that Orange Beige requires makeup removal; use an appropriate makeup remover according to your package instructions.
If a simpler evening routine matters to you, this distinction may matter more than the ¥110 price difference. But an easier removal routine is not a reason to buy a primer that otherwise misses your needs.
SPF on a primer does not make a thin layer all-day sun protection
An SPF or water-resistance label is not permission to skip reapplication. The Japan Cosmetic Industry Association advises choosing protection for the activity, applying enough evenly and reapplying according to wear, including sweat and friction; use every two to three hours as a reminder. Include shade measures such as a hat or parasol.
If you apply only a little primer for the makeup finish, do not assume you have achieved its full labelled protection. For a long outdoor day, plan suitable sun protection and reapplication first. Do not keep building up tinted primer just to chase a sunscreen quantity.
Final shelf check: product name, shade and the package in your hand
Both Japanese product pages currently carry reformulation notices. An older ingredient list, moisturizing-ingredient count or user review is not proof of what is in today’s bottle. If you need to avoid a particular ingredient, check the full list on the actual package rather than an old online photograph.
Your decision order: first identify whether shine alone or dryness too is the concern; then check the tint; finally confirm removal. If any step fails your needs, you do not have to choose either bottle.
